Can Diabetes Be Home Treated???




Well, it is always said that prevention is better than cure! Yes, that’s right, but, how many of us do follow this line seriously? We all are aware that obesity and poor diet are two basic conditions of getting diabetes. But, we often ignore on keeping track of our diet.

Though, there is no permanent cure for diabetes, but, with these home remedies one can keep the blood sugar level normal.

Bitter Gourd (Karela): Bitter Gourd has the blood glucose lowering property. Owing to the presence of chemical name Charantin, it influences the metabolism of glucose all over the body and increases the insulin secretion in pancreas, which is highly responsible for regulating the blood glucose. It is beneficial for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It iks recommended to consume in any form: Either by including in meal or drinking 1 glass of bitter guard juice every morning in empty stomach.





Cinnamon (Dalchini): Due to the property of stimulating insulin activity, cinnamon can reduce blood sugar levels. Bioactive components present in it can prevent diabetes. However, it has been proved useful in case of uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. It is recommended to mix half or one teaspoon of cinnamon in warm water and drink daily. Excessive intake can cause breathing problems and increase in heart rate.

Fenugreek (Methi): Owing to rich in fibre content, fenugreek has been proven helpful in controlling diabetes. Fenugreek consumption slows down the digestion process, thereby allowing blood sugar to be used properly. It has been proven helpful for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Just soak two tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in water overnight and next day in morning, drink water along with seeds in empty stomach.

Indian Gooseberry (Amla): Amla is rich in vitamin C and plays important role in insulin production, thereby reducing blood sugar levels. It is recommended to take 2 – 3 amlas, take away seeds and then grind it to make a fine paste. Squeeze the paste to take out juice. Mix two tablespoon of juice in one cup of water and consume daily morning in empty stomach.

Black Plum (Jamun): Black plum is the best remedy of treating diabetes. It contains antioxidants like anthocyanins, hydrolysable tannins and ellagic acid which are effective in controlling sugar levels in blood. However, not only fruit, but, seed and leaves are also helpful for diabetes patient. Make powder of dried black plum seeds and take one tablespoon of powder daily twice a day with water.

Mango leaves: Tender mango leaves have been studied to be very helpful in treating diabetes. These leaves contain vitamin A, C and tannins, which are antioxidants and very helpful in early treatment of diabetes. Just soak two to three leaves on a glass of water overnight and filter this water next day in morning and drink it in empty stomach.

Drumstick Leaves (Moringa or Sajna): Drumstick leaves contain vitamin B, C, K, Beta carotene and protein. Its anti-diabetic properties helps to regulate the blood sugar levels. As these leaves are rich in ascorbic acids, it enhances the secretion of insulin thereby reducing blood sugar levels. However, it is highly recommended not to consume along with blood thinner, as it may cause bleeding.
