Are Your Eating Habits Making you Diabetic???




Have you ever noticed on what you munch? Do you think you are taking a healthy diet? Can your eating habits make you diabetic? Ok, let’s try to dig answer of all these questions in this blog.

Just imagine how about if you find some magic pill that can eliminate diabetes. Won’t you like to grab it off? Obviously, yes. But, the truth is that we can’t change the certain genetic or risk factors. But, yes we can take control over our eating habits that can contribute in causing chronic disease like diabetes.

Eating specific food, high sugar containing snacks or high-fat meal cannot cause diabetes. It is just the lifestyle and habits that increases the potential of causing diabetes. Following are the tips that can minimize the risk:

Consuming High Glycemic Index Food: Eating high glycemic index food can have more chances of causing diabetes. Glycemic Index is the calculation of how fast a consumed food is converted into energy. Those foods that quickly turn into glucose are glycemic food and these foods results in the increase in blood sugar levels. Some of the examples of high glycemic index foods are white bread, carbonated drinks, noodles, candy, backed items, instant ready-to-eat food items etc.

These food items also known as easy carbohydrate foods gets easily digested by body owing to negligible fibre content, hence resulting in glycemic load by inducing excessive sugar in blood. Instead of choosing these foods, it is recommended to opt for fibrous content foods, as they will release sugar in bloodstream slowly.

Irregular Eating Habits: Eating at irregular hours can result in inducing of unwanted changes in blood sugar level. In order to prevent fluctuations in blood sugar levels, it should be kept in mind that major meals need to be eaten at same time. However, this is very essential to keep insulin level under control. Eating heavy desserts after dinner or just before going to bed is the first step towards causing diabetes.

Adding Salads in your diet: Salads prepared with green veggies and sprouts are one of the nutritious and anti diabetic choice. Due to high fibre content, they take longer time to digest completely. Hence, they are the easiest method to regulate the sugar levels in blood.



Make Habits of Drinking Gallons of Water: Most of the time in our diet, water is generally ignored. But, does anyone know how important role water plays in keeping diabetes away? Enough intake of water ensures that kidney is able to function properly and is able to get rid of any toxins. Because accumulation of toxin results in improper functioning of our metabolism, resulting in more storage of glucose.

Prefer Home Based Meal: Owing to hectic lifestyle most families prefer to dine in outside to satiate their hunger. But, the truth is that eating outside leads to overeating and finally leads to obesity. Obesity is one of the major reasons of causing diabetes.
